Contract Rate Rise
Contractors should always try to get a contract rate rise at renewal time if they can.
They are now more valuable to the client as they know their busienss and systems, and way of working, a lot better now and so will be more productive.
The only time not to go for a rate rise at renewal times is if the company are cutting the number of contractors for, say, the second phase of the project.
You need to remain competitive to make sure that you are one of the ones picked to be renewed.
Contractors should try to get a rate rise from both the client and from the agency.
After allĀ the agency don’t have much extra work to do to get you a renewal, so you can get them to give up some if their margin at renewal time.
