permie workers
In most IT departments there are contractors and permie workers. Permie is short for permanent and it refers to permanent employees at a company.

Permies will usually get about half the money that the contractor get paid.

However, permies get benefits like holiday pay, sick pay, maternity pay and pension contributions that contractors don’t get.
