Agency Workers Regulations (AWR)

Agency Workers Regulations (AWR) Agency Workers Regulations (AWR) refer to new legislation which allows contractors to work directly for their client after the initial contract period. All they need to do is pay a fee to the agency equivalent to the agency fee for 6 to 10 weeks. They can then go direct to the client. Agencies try to get contractors to sign an opt-out to the regulations. However, they are not allowed to try to get them to do that till after the contractor has been offered the contract buythe client. Of course, agencies try all the time to get round this and many of them are not very scrupulous.
